The American Marketing Association will host a virtual workshop for scholars interested in markets, marketing, consumer behavior and related public policy in war-ravaged and war-recovering societies, as well as other places besieged by other forms of systemic violence, and how marketing and public policy can affect and sustain peace, prosperity and well-being.
Scholars interested in submitting manuscripts to the special issue of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing: Marketing to End War, Create Peace and Enhance Sustainable Well-Being (submission deadline is in March 2023) are especially encouraged to participate. Scholars unable to participate in related in-person AMA conference events held in Austin, Chicago, and Nashville (upcoming) are also encouraged to attend this virtual workshop, as well as anyone generally interested in learning more about this important topic.
In this workshop:
- The Special Issue editors will recap the issue’s purpose, including objectives and types of manuscripts sought, and answer questions regarding manuscript preparation.
- Invited scholars from geopolitical areas engaged in or recovering from war will briefly present insights and possible new topics derived from working papers and provide peer feedback in breakout roundtable sessions.
- Prospective authors will be able to discuss ideas and receive feedback from the Special Issue editors and fellow participants during the breakout roundtable sessions.
This virtual event will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon Central (Chicago) Time via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants.
