The weekend of November 14, 2020, chapter leaders from across the AMA came together at the Mid-Year (Regional) Retreat to share best practices and keep their chapters going strong heading into 2021.
This year’s Retreat provided essential leadership training, plenty of time for collaboration (even in a virtual environment), and a strong DEI focus. Highlights included breakouts by roles and chapter size, collaboration labs, pandemic programming success stories, DEI real-talk from chapter leaders, and an amazing keynote from Dr. Nita Mosby Tyler on Igniting the Power of Us. To thank Dr. Tyler for her generous gift of time and expertise, we created a Go Fund Me for chapter leaders to contribute funds to a charity of her choice. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $1,605 for The Center For Trauma & Resilience!
Thank you to this year’s host chapters, who put on regional happy hours on Friday evening to get the weekend started – Birmingham, Charlotte, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh!
Whether you attended a retreat or had to miss out this year, please complete your mid-year survey by December 2. Your feedback will provide the PCC with valuable insights on how we can best serve you and where additional leadership training for chapter leaders is needed.
